The laboratory of Plant Production of the University of Patras (PlantLab) established in 2001 and attained in a short period to become an important research center not only for the Region of Western Greece but the whole Greece as well. The research activities of the Laboratory Plant Production mainly focus on:

a) Precision agriculture

b) Studies of ecophysical-biochemical mechanisms of plant adaptation under abiotic stress conditions,

c) Monitoring of environmental changes and their effects on agricultural production

d) Development of methodologies for quantification of chemical residues on plants tissues

e) Identification of the geographical origin of agricultural products and foods using stable isotope ratios

The laboratory is well equipped with the appropriate infrastructure fulfilling the needs of the above mentioned research topics. The specific interest on these work fields resulted in the participation in many EC and national funded research projects and the publication of a number of research papers.
